Drawing

This assignment introduced students to the process of using their senses for documentary observation. The in-class portion of the assignment asked students to remember an experience through their senses - what it felt like, what they heard, what they saw, what they tasted, what they smelled.  Then make a drawing from their memory and use writing to reveal sensory details for their audience.

Melody:
"This is a drawing of when I felt relaxed at a park. The sun was hitting my face. It was very quiet, relaxing as the sun was reflecting onto the water. I could smell the water and the trees. I could see all kinds of animals. This is a drawing of when I felt relaxed at a park. The sun was hitting my face. It was very quiet, relaxing as the sun was reflecting onto the water. Angelina:
"My drawing is a memory of my sister, me and my mother at the beach playing volleyball.

I drew multiple volleyball nets and one in particular was big in height and width.

There was one in the front and two in the back.

The net was very wobbly and had big poles.

I had bought a new volleyball at the moment and it barely went over the net.

The net was thick and sandy.

The sand was very warm but the wind was strong and made the net wiggle.

It smelt very salty yet fresh at the same time.

The waves were as loud as the cars on the road .

The volleyball felt both soft and hard as it had just enough air."
